LIFE groups start up Sunday, Sept. 16

What Are  All About?

The name LIFE Groups comes from our goal of Loving Involvement in Friendship and Evangelism .

LIFE Groups are small groups of people that meet for about an hour and a half twice a month in homes or other locations. The groups spend time in fellowship, prayer, and Bible discussion, as they strive to encourage each other and build one another up. Some groups share a meal.

Why Meet in Small Groups?

     Though people come to the church for many different reasons they generally stay for only one - relationships. At the Bentonville church of Christ we believe that small groups are the best context for developing solid Christian relationships. In a LIFE group you have the opportunity to not only be loved and accepted, but to develop friendships with others who are discovering what it means to follow Jesus! Together you will learn how to serve others and share your faith with those that are desperately looking for God’s love.

What are the benefits of joining a LIFE Group?

Fellowship : Make true friends while growing in Christ.

According to Acts 2:46, believers were “breaking bread from house to house.” Fellowship with God’s people forms friendships and fulfills our God-given need for loving relationships. Christian discipleship needs are also fulfilled in small groups. In the book of Matthew, Jesus instructed us to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” We believe that discipleship is a result of one person modeling Christ to another, an opportunity afforded in small group settings.

Encouragement : Be renewed and refreshed.

Hebrews 10:25 reminds us to not “give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another…” Small group members demonstrate the love of God through their love and concern for one another. Members strive to genuinely support each other with total confidentiality.

Prayer : Find peace and strength for your life.

In Philippians 4:6-7, the writer says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding., will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” LIFE Groups provide an opportunity to join together in prayer for the wide range of issues that we face daily.

Service and Outreach : Reaching out to those in need.

Service and Outreach are an integral part of LIFE Groups. Together, we model the heart of Christ to others. In Luke 10, the Lord instructed us to “love your neighbor as yourself.” LIFE Groups offer the personal opportunity to minister to others in their spiritual and physical needs, as well as share the gospel of Christ.

Leadership Training : Learn to lead.

LIFE Groups provide “on-the-job” training for those who desire to use their God-given gift of leadership within the body. Through mentoring and team leadership, LIFE Groups offer the opportunity for Christians to learn to lead others into the freedom found in Jesus.
