Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine

Hi to all of you ! Greetings from the Church of Christ in Dnepr !

Alexander, our new preacher has built a baptistery in the church -- it’s not big but deep enough-- very good job ! We all are so happy and tomorrow -- we all pray ! -- one man is going to be baptized there. Will let you know.

You can see Alexander and his wife Irina in one of the pictures. They are too shy and didn’t want Andrew to take a picture of them so they look pretty sad/serious but actually they are a very good Christian family working hard in the church. Believe me -- they always smile and they are loving and understanding people, just don’t like to be taken pictures of.

We had pretty much snow a couple of weeks ago -- you can see some kids on the way to the church and during the break in the church. They spend several hours on Saturdays and Sundays in the church, don’t want to go home and we let them stay as much as they want.

Till next time.

In Christian love, Rita Girenko

Dear brother Gary and all brothers and sisters of Bentonville congregation,

Good day to you .

I want to share our joy with you. On Sunday, 18 March 2007, Lord added one more saved soul to His Church. That was Elina , born in 1978. For about 7 years she had been attending the charismatic congregation. She repented there but was not baptized. And now Lord opened her heart to the understanding of the importance of baptism.

March was full of different events. On the 8 th of March we visited 4 our sisters who are not able to visit worship services because of their illness. We congratulated them with the spring holiday, presented them with flowers and fruits. On the 3 rd and on the 10 th of March sisters of the congregation went to the café. They had a good communication there, discussed plans for summer, got to know each other closer.

We are thankful to our Lord we have prayer meetings on Saturdays; where we can meet together and pray. We ask you to join us in our prayers for sister Yevdokiia Yemelianovna who is in poor condition (her health is really bad) for about three weeks. Our hope is in Lord only.

On Saturdays children come . They play , communicate . Sisters make different jobbing together with them: sew soft toys, do pokerwork.

We are planning to start youth meetings and youth communication in the church building. Hope our Lord will bless this undertaking. Our young brothers Viacheslav and Vadim are ready to busy themselves with this.

Please pray about spiritual growth of the members of our congregation and about youth meetings.

We are praying for you to come to Ukraine this summer.

With love in Christ

Alexandr

Report #2

Dear brothers and sisters of Bentonville congregation! Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ from Dnipropetrovsk congregation and from me personally.

Two weeks of this year already passed. We’re very happy that the Lord brings new people to study His Word and we have the possibility to tell them about His love.

There were two ladies-visitors on Sunday worship January 7. We welcomed them and had a conversation with them. Also we have visitors from the congregation on Artema Str. After worship we had a short Christmas concert. Children made a puppet show. We also had a short contest on Bible knowledge. Then we had a tea party and fellowship.

With God’s help we had children camp from 2nd till 6th of January. There were up to eight children every day. Everything went fine. Children enjoyed the camp.

We conduct studies on Wednesdays and on Thursdays. I wish more brothers and sisters come for these studies. Lord will provide.

We helped sister Raisa to fix a water heater. Now she has got hot water in her house.

January 14 a Donetsk preacher Volodia Sinenko came to worship with us. He is from congregation of Petrovsky district of Donetsk. We studied together at “Sunset” Bible Institute of Donetsk. Brother Vladimir preached on the first hour on Sunday. We had three visitors that day. We had a chance to communicate with them after worship. They were not indifferent to Sunday sermons. I hope Lord works in their lives.

We composed a questionnaire on the matters of worship and study of God’s Word and suggested all members of the congregation to fill it in to know and understand the strivings and problems of members of our congregation.

We proceed with editing of the prayer sheet. We ask you to pray about our needs:

  • about health of our old sisters;
  • about spiritual growth;

- about greater extension of evangelism.

I’m very thankful to brothers of our congregation for their encouragement and assistance in worship service.

Thank you for your prayers and support. Let Lord blesses you and your families.

In Christ,

Brother Alexandr
