Women are Important
Jesus connected with women. He understood their needs and reached out to them with dignity and love. We are committed to follow Him!
Our Women's Ministry is committed to Learning about Jesus, Walking with Jesus and Serving as Jesus served.
We intend to study the word of God, develop a relationship with God, and encourage and serve others. May God be glorified in all we say and do!
Ladies’ Bible Classes
The Wednesday night Support Group meets each week at 7:00. See Sharon Schell for more information.
Our Wednesday morning Ladies' Class meets September through April in the serving room located in the Activity Center. Childcare is provided. Carolyn Hook can answer your questions.
Gift Showers
We frequently have Gift Showers for new babies and new brides. If you know of someone having a baby or getting married, check the church calendar and plan it.
Circle of Sisters
This successful program is an opportunity for all women to have fun and fellowship. These ladies also do some service projects throughout the year. See Shirley Lamp or Faye Wade for details.
Widow’s Fellowship
Betty Thompson plans monthly gatherings for our widows. They are also planning a few day trip this year.
Fall Retreat
A highlight for all women is our annual fall retreat. About 70 women typically enjoy this time of spiritual uplift. Planners are Carolyn Hook, Becky Hicks, Sharon Schell, Donna Stephens & Patsy Wright. Plan to join us for a wonderful time of reflection, fun, fellowship, outreach, refocusing and "quiet" time.
Autumn Luncheon
Each November, the women plan and serve a special luncheon to honor the fine folks in our congregation who have lost their spouses. The menu is "Thanksgiving" style, but the purpose is to give thanks for these wonderful people who so enrich the church. June Carter and Marilyn McMennamy are the organizers of this event.
Heart to Heart Women’s Seminar
On April 1, 2002 we had our first “Heart to Heart Women’s Seminar.” We hope to make this an annual event. We reach out into the community by inviting women from all walks of life to share meaningful classes, lunch, fun and fellowship with us. Joanna Lamp is in charge of this special outreach for women.
Creation Corner
Debbie Thibodeaux coordinate our Creation Corner, which meets each Monday & Thursday during the school year from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Creation Corner gives mothers a few hours away from their pre-school children. It provides children with a safe, learning environment where Biblical values are taught and practiced. See Debbie or Desiree for more information.
Food Ministry
Through Life Groups, Margaret Pinner enlists volunteers to plan meals for the sick, bereaved, shut in folks, those with new babies, and others who need a lift. You can help by volunteering to coordinate food one month out of the year, or by preparing food when you are asked.
Women’s Involvement Ministry
Getting involved makes a difference. If you like to be with other women, this ministry is where you will find your niche. Call Holly Hook or Carol Willis to get going.
Mad Hatter’s Tea
Once a year we host a Mad Hatter's Tea. This is an excellent opportunity to have fun and get to know women. If you would like to help take charge of this unique event, please contact the church office. |
